ABOUT THE AUDITIONS

Preliminary auditions will consist of performing a short monologue. 

Callbacks will consist of reading from the script, theatre/movement exercises, and possible improvisation work. Those actors who play a musical instrument and/or sing may also be asked to briefly demonstrate that skill.

This collection of six hilarious one-act plays explores the absurdity of human relationships, communication mishaps, and the quirks of existence itself. From a man trapped in a loop of Sure Thing rejections to a language instructor's unconventional methods in The Universal Language, each play is a masterclass in comedic timing and linguistic gymnastics. With clever wordplay, unexpected twists, and laugh-out-loud moments aplenty, All in the Timing promises an evening of uproarious entertainment that will leave audiences both charmed and delighted.

The Rocky Horror Show

Welcome to the outrageous and exhilarating world of The Rocky Horror Show! Follow the misadventures of Brad and Janet, an innocent couple whose car breaks down on a stormy night, leading them to the bizarre castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist and self-proclaimed 'sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania.' As they encounter an eccentric array of characters, including the iconic Rocky himself, audiences are swept away on a whirlwind journey of rock music, campy humor, and gender-bending delights. With its infectious tunes, daring themes, and interactive audience participation, The Rocky Horror Show is a cult classic that guarantees a wild and unforgettable theatrical experience.

ROLES AND CASTING OPPORTUNITIES

We are looking for a talented, adventurous, and supportive company of actors for this exciting piece. This will be a collaborative and fast-paced rehearsal process, in which we will be bringing the play’s rich imagery, wonderful characters, and time-traveling world to life through both language and movement. 

All the play’s roles provide intriguing artistic and educational opportunities. The roles of The Chorus require versatile actors who can play multiple characters and memorize a substantial amount of lines, as they handle much of the play’s narration and will be on stage a lot. Actors of all racial/ethnic backgrounds, all shapes and sizes, diverse abilities and disabilities, and all gender expressions are strongly encouraged to audition.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Rehearsals begin: TBD

Performances: 8 performances over two weekends, Oct 4-13, to be performed in the Chong Studio Theatre located in Burbank Auditorium.

Performance dates: October 4, 5, 11, 12 - evenings / October 5, 6, 12, 13 - matinees

Performances: 10 performances over three weekends, Oct 31-Nov 17, to be performed in the Main Stage Theatre located in Burbank Auditorium.

Performance dates: October 31 / November 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 - evenings / November 17 - matinees

WHAT TO PREPARE

Preliminary auditions will consist of performing a short monologue from a play. The monologue must be memorized and under 90 seconds in length. Monologues may be from a contemporary or classical play (such as Shakespeare).

Also, be prepared to talk briefly with the director after presenting your material.
